Communicating quietly from the air will be a reality in the European Union. Thanks to 5G technology, this communication will be possible, opening a new gap of possibilities in relation to technology and aviation.
It is not new that airlines such as Iberia and others offer in-flight connectivity services, which you must pay for, but now, as expressed by the European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, Thierry Breton, the 5G service will be available in the territory of the European Union.
Making it clear that, from now on, passengers in the European Union will be able to enjoy internet connectivity, make calls and send messages while on board, without the need to be absent.
Innovation in the air…
We know that until now, in-flight airplane mode was mandatory to avoid interference that could affect the aircraft. However, from now on, airlines will have to install a “network station” so that passengers can communicate by using the satellite network to a terrestrial network.
“5G will enable innovative services for people and growth opportunities for European businesses. The sky is no longer the limit when it comes to the possibilities offered by super-fast, high-capacity connectivity.” – Thierry Breton made it clear.
The 5G technology after being quite criticized, now makes its way to offer faster connections that allow the user to stay connected around the clock. It only remains to wait for this measure to begin to be taken worldwide.
