The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that it is in the last phase of testing for its Travel Pass mobile app as a key to supporting the safe reopening of air transport.
The development of this passport is well advanced, IATA hopes to launch its final version in the coming weeks, to safely verify the Covid-19 tests and the vaccination record thanks to the exchange of information between governments, airlines, laboratories and passengers.
The aim of this app is for travelers to store and share their information safely with the corresponding entities, in order to travel without complications or restrictions.
In this sense, IATA has communicated with some laboratories around the world to establish a secure link in which the test results of each person can be verified individually through the Travel Pass.
The intention of using this ‘digital passport’ model is to make trips safer in the future, since 70% of passengers worry about having to deliver physical documents to the different airport filters. In this way, the Travel Pass would generate greater confidence in passengers, to guarantee a contact-free travel process.
