Skytrax announced the winners of the 2021 World Airport Awards, and for the first time in many years, Singapore International Airport failed to take first place.
On this occasion, the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar was awarded first place in the category of “World’s Best Airport 2021“.
In second place and as the cleanest airport in the world, Tokyo International Airport was positioned, making Japan the highest rated country overall, with three airports in the top 10.
Singapore’s Changi Airport ranked third on the 2021 list and won the award for “Best Airport Personnel”.
Among other major winners is Istanbul Airport, which was named the “World’s Most Improved Airport in 2021”, going from number 102 in 2020 to number 17 in 2021 results. While Munich Airport maintained its strength in the awards, being named Best Airport in Europe.
