This is not the first time that supersonic flights have been talked about worldwide, and after the withdrawal of Concorde, there was no talk of something similar until the beginning of May 2022.
In early May, Bombardier announced that the Global 8000 reached high flight speeds during its development phase. This would be the first step in confirming it as “the world’s fastest and longest-range business jet”.
During the test phase, it could also stand out as the first aircraft in the transport category to perform a flight with sustainable aviation fuel that achieves supersonic speed, making it the new promise of super-fast aircraft.
Bombardier introduces the Global 8000
The Global 8000 is a business jet that claims to be the world’s fastest and longest-range business jet. On its own, it has an innovative and elegant design that accommodates 19 passengers and has a range of 8,000 nautical miles, equivalent to 14,800 kilometers. It also has a top speed of Mach 0.94, equivalent to 1,150 kilometers per hour.
Éric Martes, CEO of Bombardier said: “The Global 8000 aircraft builds on the extraordinary attributes of the Global 7500 aircraft, providing our customers with a flagship aircraft of a new era”.
The Global 8000 is certainly a promise for the future and is expected to enter service by 2025.
