The Spanish air navigation manager, ENAIRE, has presented its App which allows the planning of flight plans, registration, and consultation in real-time from any electronic device, in a further effort to point towards digitalization and offer a more innovative alternative for pilots, airlines and others involved in air operations.
The main objective of this application is to automate the procedures related to aeronautical information, allowing the initial processing of the flight plan and subsequent follow-up, thus facilitating access to the information through the mobile application.
The ICARO App will also provide meteorological information hand in hand with the Automated Air Traffic Control System (SACTA), which will serve as a complement for the planning of flights, the completion of procedures, and their consultation.
What services are available through ICARO XXI?
- Aeronautical information: this application will facilitate the distribution of information regarding the safety, regularity, and efficiency of air navigation, thus automating the functions of the NOF office, which is in charge of these functions.
- News bulletins: ICARO will be a communication channel that provides timely information to its users, being an easy-to-use tool that can be accessed quickly from any device, allowing the review of the latest aeronautical and meteorological information.
- Weather information: ICARO XXI will offer weather information both on terminals installed at the counters for public use and on its website, making this information more accessible.
- Flight plan: this application will function as a bridge for the registration of flight plans, the necessary processing, and subsequent monitoring of the status of flights, providing real-time access to all those involved and thus facilitating joint work.
- Interfaces with the Aena system: the ICARO XXI App will maintain interfaces with the Aena system to provide flight plans and meteorological and aeronautical information in general; all this is in the function of the Airport Collaborative Decision-Making program.
There are more and more technological tools that seek to digitize the processes of the aeronautical sector, thus allowing it to optimize its resources and offer a more optimal service adapted to the needs of consumers.
