As the aviation industry reactivates and after two years of the pandemic, we can see how many technologies have been implemented in the sector that is transforming consumer behavior.
In the following article, we will tell you about 3 key trends in aviation that will revolutionize the industry.
1- Electric aviation:
The electrification of aviation is an indispensable step to reducing gas emissions in one of the highly polluting industries such as aviation.
Many projects have been developed to bring electric propulsion planes a long life. It is expected that within 10 to 15 years internal flights at least in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway will be fully electric, and thus larger and larger aircraft will soon be flying the green, changing the overall picture of the business and commercial aviation alike.
2- Sustainable aviation fuel:
One of the initiatives to address the environmental challenge is the commitment made by fuel-producing companies to develop a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) option that will be used in jet aircraft. For a fuel to be considered SAF, it has to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50-60% and its feedstock must be from land and techniques that do not affect diversity.
Some airlines have already carried out their first flights with this new fuel, applying it in their newest aircraft and generating promising results.
3- Urban air mobility:
Now, the transformation of metropolitan areas follows the track of development, preparing for the implementation of new technologies aimed at making urban aerial mobility a reality.
Whether it is for the transport of people or goods, this type of mobility refers to that destined in an urban, peri-urban, and/or rural environment and we are currently seeing some tests and large manufacturers involved in the creation of vertical landing prototypes, aero cabs and even large-scale drones developed for this purpose.
Undoubtedly these three trends are not the only things to be seen soon of the industry, but they are surely some of the most promising trends in the aviation sector.
