This is undoubtedly the best moment in the aviation sector, as we have mentioned in other articles, normality has made airlines go beyond their limits to offer and seek technological alternatives to improve the experience at all levels.
Such is the case of LATAM Cargo Airlines, which has managed to obtain the certification of lithium battery transport called Center of Excellence for Independent (CEIV) Validators Lithium Battery. This improves safety when handling and transporting lithium batteries.
“At LATAM Cargo we are constantly evaluating our services and procedures to provide the highest industry standards and thus ensure safety, an unwavering pillar for the LATAM group. For this reason, we are proud to be the first airline in the world to obtain IATA’s CEIV Lithium Battery certification, which validates the transportation offered for these delicate products safely and reliably.” LATAM Cargo Chile CEO, Andrés Bianchi, made this clear.
Safety standards…
It is not new that the shipment of lithium batteries is considered dangerous cargo and must comply with regulations and safety standards for manufacturing, packaging, marking, testing, and documentation that must be met in advance for their distribution channel.
The aforementioned requirements are essential in the IATA rules for shipping lithium batteries.
That is why at this moment, LATAM Cargo is positioned as a pioneering airline in having this certification that guarantees the safety processes, in the search for a safer sector and with recognition.
