Emirates Airlines has always been known for its innovations. This time it has announced that it will be present in the metaverse, and will launch NFTs to improve the user and employee experience.
For the Emirates Group, staying ahead of the curve is paramount. About five years ago, it launched virtual reality technology on its website, allowing 360-degree 3D viewing of the inside of onboard cabins.
Another of its technological projects was the launch of the virtual reality application on the Oculus Store, which allowed users an interactive experience of the inside of the A380 and Boeing 777-300ER Game Changer aircraft cabin.
Now, Emirates is surprising again by launching into the market for NFTs, which will be useful and collectible. At the moment, some of the first projects are already under development. Are expected to be launched in the coming months.
Emirates also said that, its Expo 2020 Pavilion will be set up as an innovation hall. That will bring in talent from around the world to bring the airline’s future projects.
“Dubai and the UAE are leading the way in the digital economy by having a clear vision backed by practical policies and regulatory frameworks in areas such as virtual assets, artificial intelligence, and data protection,” said Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman, and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group.
This is undoubtedly a demonstration that cutting-edge technology is here to stay and Emirates Airlines is committed to pioneering it.
