The environmental issue is gaining strength and is that, in order to help reduce environmental damage, France imposes an ecological tax on flights that travel from the country. All this with a double purpose, the first is to reduce the impact of CO2 on the atmosphere and the second is to use the money raised to invest in the daily transport of France, as expressed by the Minister of Transport, Elisabeth Borne.
This ecological tax will be introduced gradually; According to the portal “Cinco Días” of the newspaper El País, for each economy class ticket and within the EU, approximately 1.5 euros will be charged, on the other hand, in the executive class tickets the tax will be 9 euros and for Executive class traveling outside the European Union, will be up to 18 euros per ticket.
It is also estimated that from the year 2020 about 180 million euros will be collected, for these ecological taxes according to the aforementioned portal
This country of the European Union, expects the new commission to work on the reduction / elimination of CO2 emissions by aircraft fuel. According to the above, “France and the Netherlands have already agreed to ask their European partners to set higher taxes on air travel.”
