Volotea has made an agreement with Airbus Services, so that as of this month, January 2020, all its pilots receive specific training of Airbus A319, during the next five years at its headquarters in Toulouse.
As we know, in 2015 Volotea selected Airbus A319 as the model to use for its growth plan thanks to its capacity, availability, and flight distance. So far, they have 24 aircraft of this model. The intention is to end the year 2022 with an exclusive Airbus fleet, so the team of pilots and instructors must also grow; This is because of this training plan with the highest standards of aeronautical quality.
This training will take place in flight simulators in the Airbus European Training Center Network in Toulouse, where they will also receive training with an exclusive program that will allow both companies to enjoy the knowledge gained in each field of activity, including the Type program -Rating, and Recurrent Training.
“The flexible training program and enriched with the experience and standards of Airbus and Volotea will be carried out by a team of experienced pilot instructors, and will guarantee excellent training for the growing number of Volotea pilots. A team that over the years will grow in parallel to the increase in our fleet, which incorporates additional A319 every year.” – Juha Aramo, Flight Operations Director of Volotea.
Additionally, Volotea was chosen by Airbus to operate the shuttle service between Toulouse International Airport and the Airbus Finkenwerder. Airbus employees may use this shuttle between the two locations, Monday through Friday, with four daily flights; and Volotea will operate this service for the next five years, to finally open a new base in Hamburg, the first in Germany.
This agreement will allow pilots to enjoy the long-term use of Airbus flight simulators, throughout the Training Center Network of the aeronautical manufacturer.
