KLM has reached a new milestone in its modernization process by introducing the first Airbus A350 flight simulator in the Netherlands. This new training tool marks a key step in preparing for the arrival of this aircraft model to its fleet, scheduled for late 2026, and reinforces the airline’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability in aviation.
A Technological Leap in Aeronautical Training

According to Aviación al Día, the simulator was developed by CAE in Montreal, Canada, where it also underwent an acceptance process similar to that of a real aircraft. Before being transported to Europe, the cockpit and its systems were subjected to rigorous testing to ensure their precision and operational realism.
Transporting the simulator to Amsterdam was no easy task: due to its size, it couldn’t fit through the main doors of the Schiphol-East complex, so it had to be lifted over the fence to complete installation. Today, the simulator is fully operational, and KLM’s first group of A350 pilots will begin training in the coming months.
Efficiency, Sustainability, and Pilot Experience

The arrival of the Airbus A350 to KLM’s fleet represents a major step toward cleaner and more efficient operations. This next-generation aircraft produces up to 40% less noise and consumes 25% less fuel than previous models, significantly reducing carbon emissions and enhancing the flight experience for both passengers and airport communities.
Moreover, the new simulator enables pilots to train in realistic conditions without using active aircraft, lowering operational costs and reducing the environmental footprint associated with traditional training.
Technology and Innovation Driving Aviation Forward

Initiatives like those from KLM and CAE demonstrate how technology can transform the future of aviation—combining safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency. This type of innovation benefits not only airlines but the entire aviation ecosystem, from airports to digital service platforms.
At Jet Man Pay, we believe that aviation innovation isn’t limited to the skies—it also happens on the ground, in how payments, services, and airport operations are managed. Just as KLM enhances pilot training with advanced technology, airlines and operators can optimize their finances with integrated, secure, and efficient payment solutions.
